My December.

For me, December is my busiest and most exciting month - my birthday, Christmas and New Year are all in the space of a couple of weeks. This year however, my December was massive; it was my 21st!

My first party was on my actual birthday at the Islington Metal Works in Angel - if you have any kind of event that you need a venue for, I couldn't recommend this place enough. The owner, Dette, is such a pro, and caters to every single detail to make your shindig awesome. Plus, look how sick the venue itself is:

(this was before everyone arrived, I swear I'm not a loser with no friends)

It was absolutely incredible - open bar, food, and the awesome Chris Campbell of DrDr DJ'd. Such a sick night!

My next party was a cocktail party with my family and friends; it was initially meant to be relatively smart and classy, however things soon got a little crazier when my uncle started handing out jager shots. Never thought I'd see the day where I'd have to keep up with my family members, but there you go!

I've been looking forward to my 21st for so long that now it's all over I can't help but feel a little sad. And old! I am so lucky to have such awesome friends and family who celebrated with me, I feel well special.

Two birthdays meant 2 dresses (of course). Here's what I wore:

Part 1:

Dress - Freak of Nature (hands down my favourite brand ever!)
Shoes - Nike
Earrings - ASOS

Not gonna lie, this is probably one of my favourite items of clothing I own. Wearing it made me feel like Iggy Azalea!
I also totally recommend these Nike Sky Highs if you want a snazzier pair of trainers to go clubbing in. I was literally non-stop boogying for a good 5 hours and, despite them having a bit of a heel, felt no foot pain at all. Plus they're beaut. Liberty has recently done a new range of limited edition Sky Highs with sick patterns on if you don't want just a block colour.

Part 2:

Dress - ASOS
Shoes - Iron Fist (I want every pair of Iron Fist shoes ever made)

Didn't manage to get any individual shots of me with this outfit but I love this dress/shoe combo so much that I wanted to share anyways! I love the mesh/thigh split in this dress. These shoes were bought for me by my lovely boyfriend for my birthday a few years ago. I pointed them out to him saying that they would be the shoes I would wear to my first ever film premier - he remembered and bought them for me! I'm crap at heels and yet I managed to last pretty long in these - the platform definitely helps. Plus, they have frickin' wolf teeth on them. Sick as.

I hope you all had fab Christmases/Hanukkahs/Holidays - there'll be many more posts to come in the New Year!

Baby It's Cold Outside.

So I was lucky enough to do a shoot with the lovely Katy Cummings last week. I absolutely love her style and concepts so when I saw her tweet about wanting to do some testing I seized the opportunity immediately and we organised a shoot.

It was completely different to anything I have done before - I think if I were to tell my 16 year old self that a) I would become a plus size model and b) I would do a shoot in just a jumper and heels, my 16 year old self would probably laugh in disbelief!

Not only was this shoot awesome because of Katy's sick shooting skills, but it has also reminded me of how far I've come. I used to be so unhappy with my body and my self image when I was younger; I forever felt like I wasn't good enough. I've now finally learnt how to love myself and the skin I'm in, and even have some self confidence.

Here are the results of the shoot - it was so difficult to choose just a couple to show you all.

Have a look at Katy's website here: www.katycummings.com

I hope you like them!

Kids with Guns.

So I had the pleasure of working with the TrueMobster team on one of their short videos.

After being picked up from Eastbourne station in the 'Bentley' we made our way to the set and from there my chilled Sunday morning escalated pretty quickly - when I knew that I would be doing filming on a Sunday morning, I most definitely didn't expect that I would be tied up, untied and then re-tied up again!
We had an awesome time filming, despite it being freezing cold and me not exactly being dressed appropriately for the weather.  It was however a bit of a worry how being a bitchy hostage seemed to come a little bit too naturally to me...

I had a sick time filming - thanks again to everyone at Truemobster for having me!
You can check the video out here:

And here's a little bit of me behind the scenes:

What I'm Wearing:

Top - Forever 21
Jeans - Topshop
Coat - Missguided

(just a head's up, this gun is totally fake and only okay to pose with because it's not real. Real guns are bad, mmkay)

Vogue.

I had the pleasure of shooting with the lovely Przemek Czaicki and Melissa Massey recently on a vintage Vogue-style themed shoot. The two of them were a great creative team to work with and I had an awesome time shooting with them. I also got to work with Ridma Kapuge, a fab makeup artist with a great eye for detail.

We coffee'd and makeup'd in a cafe in South End Green (which made me feel like a film star, people kept having a cheeky look at me and Ridma!), then trekked through Hampstead Heath to get to the  Pergola in Hampstead Heath. After a walk which made us all feel like we were the Fellowship of the Ring on a journey to Mordor, we reached the Pergola which was such a stunning location - definitely worth it! After being promptly chucked out of said stunning location, we wondered through Hampstead and managed to find the best front garden ever and took a few cheeky snaps there too.

These are the results from the shoot. Have a look at the rest of Przemek's work at www.schadenkind.com. Mel also has a fab vintage fashion blog which you can find here: vintagetearoses.com.

Thanks again to the team for such a fab shoot.

Hope you guys like!

Thriller.

So it was Halloween last week. I absolutely love Halloween, especially this year as it seemed that people shifted from doing sexy costumes (although I did see a lot of sexy cobwebs - what?!) to doing costumes that were genuinely terrifying.

I followed suit and managed to get my fabulous pal Anna on board to do some special FX for this style shoot. I had a more toned down version of this makeup on actual Halloween so as to avoid hair sticking to my face - if you think getting hair out of your lipgloss is hard, try getting hair out of fake coagulated blood!

So here's my look; Elizabeth Taylor's Undead Cleopatra.

What I'm Wearing:

Dress - Missguided

Shoes - H&M
Accessories - Ebay/Amazon

Thanks also to Simone who took these shots today, what a babe!

Que Sera, Sera?

So, term is now in full swing. And I'm not sure I like it.
Firstly, I have to do actual work after not having written anything for around 4/5 months; putting together full blown sentences that actually make sense on paper is a lot more difficult than I remember. Secondly, it is bloody freezing. Thirdly, and probably most importantly, I'm now being asked what's next. I'm in my third year of uni now so it's somewhat of a hot topic with most people in my year. I know people with fixed plans, I know people with no plans...I, personally, am all over the place. I have a lot of ideas of what I want to do and I still feel like the future is miles away even though it's really really really soon. 9 months away-type soon.

For the time being, I'm just going to pretend it's summer again and I have nothing to worry about for a little bit longer. This is the first in a series of outfit posts that the love of my life (Bridie) and I did whilst on holiday in the South of France. I was (and still am) completely obsessed with this skirt; as I've previously mentioned, pencil skirts are my fave, especially if they have an interesting print/pattern.

What I'm wearing:
Top: New Look
Skirt: Freak of Nature
Sandals: Oasis
Earrings: Primark

Work Bitch! Pre-Uni Haul.

So the time has come for me to start university again for the final year (gulp). So of course I had to go shopping to prepare for/cushion the blow of my impending doom. Before term properly started we had a student lock-in at my local shopping centre, meaning there were discounts at shops such as River Island and Urban Outfitters, so I went mildly insane. So what did I actually get?

Bestival!

Bestival blew me away once again this year. Bar the rain and my rain-related hissy fit, it was an incredible weekend filled with brilliant performances, sick dj sets and ridiculous costumes.

As an excuse to relive Bestival all over again, I've made a list of my favourite highlights of the weekend.

DIY Roll Up Baggy Shorts

So, I'm going to Bestival this week and I can barely contain myself - Snoop Dogg and Elton John in the same lineup? Hell yes!

So obviously I left the only pair of denim shorts I actually wanted to wear to the festival at uni, so I thought I'd do a cheeky denim shorts tutorial.

So, here it goes.

Basically, I have no idea what I'm doing.

SO HI.

This is my first blog post of many (providing I don't give up in 5 seconds). Bare with while I get a hold of this!
